Analysis of the Development Status of Compound Semiconductors

  • 摘要: 化合物半导体作为宽禁带半导体是高温、高频、抗辐射及大功率器件的适合材料。2020年全球化合物半导体的市场规模约为440亿美元,2020年之后其市场需求随着5G商用、汽车电动化、人工智能将呈现持续性增长趋势。化合物半导体的主要材料包括砷化镓、磷化铟、氮化镓、碳化硅及以金刚石,氧化镓为代表的超宽禁带化合物半导体。化合物半导体的主要器件包括射频器件、光电器件和功率器件,在国防、航空航天、石油勘探、宽带通讯、汽车制造、智能电网等领域有重要应用。化合物半导体的发展需要产业界的协同创新,既要与科研院所进行产学研联合,也要贴切下游的应用企业需求。

     

    Abstract: Compound semiconductors are wide bandgap semiconductors and they are suitable materials for high-temperature, high-frequency, anti-radiation and large power devices. In 2020 global compound semiconductor market scale is about 44 billion US dollars. With the rapid progress of 5 G, AI and automotive electrification, the market will continuously grow further. Compound semiconductors mainly comprise GaAs, InP, GaN, SiC and ultra wide bandgap semiconductors such as diamonds and Ga2O3. Devices based on compound semiconductors include RF, optoelectronics and power devices, which have important applications in national defence, aerospace, petroleum exploration, wideband communication, automotive, smart grid. Development of compound semiconductors need collaborative innovation through the whole industry, referring not only to collaborate with research institutes and universities but also to understand the needs from application enterprises clearly.
