Abstract: IP reuse is applied in IC design widely. However,it is still difficult to select a right IP in the starting an IC design project. Based on different value points, silicon IP quality evaluation methods are various, such as the subjective quality evaluation, the functional quality evaluation, and the business 3^rd party quality evaluation. Each method has its own advantages and limitations. Considering the IP selecting strategy in IP exchange process, relative IP quality evaluation methods are compared and researched in this paper. And an IP quality evaluation software is developed,therefore the IP evaluation efficiency is improved. And this method is applied and tested in the 10 Gbps Serdes IP quality evaluation from a third party.
