Abstract:
BaTiO
3 ceramic as a lead-free piezoelectric ceramic has a wide prospect in practical application. However, the piezoelectric properties of this kind of ceramic prepared by conventional methods are generally lower than those of lead-based piezoelectric ceramics. Texture is an important way to improve the properties of piezoelectric ceramic materials without changing the material composition. In recent years, the study has been paid more attention on the preparations of textured BaTiO
3 piezoelectric ceramics. This paper summarized the research advances in the preparation technologies of textured BaTiO
3 piezoelectric ceramics. In addition to some conventional preparation technologies, the preparation technology assisted by electrophoresis was redeveloped and the technologies assisted by electrophoresis and strong magnetic field were employed newly in recent several years. The advantages and disadvantages of these preparation technologies for textured BaTiO
3 ceramics are introduced, and the development trend in this field is forecasted.
