Influence of organic vehicles on microstructure of thick barium hexaferrite films

Abstract
In this paper,BaFe12O19 hexaferrite thick films were prepared by screen printing method.The influences of composition of the ferrite paste and the dying time on the morphology of barium ferrite thick films were studied.The results show that the solvent mixture consisting of terpineol and tributyl citrate can adjust the volatilization characteristic of the paste so that to reduce the porosity and improve saturated magnetization of the barium ferrite thick films.With the decrease of the content of organic vehicle,the density of the thick film increases,while the remanence ratio increases and coercivity decreases.The dying time has little effects on the morphology of barium ferrite thick films because the solvent mixture has smooth volatilization process.
