Review of microwaveresonator based on quantum state manipulation for diamond magnetic sensing

  • The nitrogen vacancy(NV) color center in diamond is a kind of point defect formed by the combination of substituted nitrogen atoms in diamond with vacancies. It has attracted wide attention in recent years due to its easy initialization, optical readout and long coherence time. The microwave field that drives the electron spin in the NV center plays a key role in applications such as quantum information and magnetic measurement. Microwave resonator with spin manipulation of NV color center has different structure design in magnetic sensing applications, including single straight wire, planar microstrip antenna, three dimensional dielectric resonator. At the same time, the circularly polarized antenna plays a key role in the study of precise regulation of energy levels. This article reviews the recent research progresses in microwave resonators for NV color center control, and provides guidance for the application of microwave resonators in the field of NV center spin manipulation.
