A Frequency Reconfigurable End-Fire Antenna for 5G-FR1 Application
-
Abstract
This paper introduces a novel frequency reconfigurable antenna for 5 G-FR1 band. In the design, the printed Yagi antenna working in state 1(center resonant frequency is 3.5 GHz) is combined with part of its director to change the state of the radiator to construct a printed log periodic antenna working in state 2(with the central resonant frequency of 4.9 ghz).Furthermore, the switch makes part of the Yagi antenna's director connected with metal patch under state 1 to change the resonant frequency of the director, so as to improve the influence of coupling effect on the non working frequency band and ensure that the antenna works independently in both States. Through the verification in the electromagnetic simulation software, when the antenna works at 3.5 GHz and 4.9 GHz, the relative impedance bandwidth with the S11 < – 10 dB is 22% and 23%, and the maximum gain at the center frequency is 7.02 dBi and 7.82 dBi, respectively.
